Grief and Loss Support Group

Green Light Counseling LLC will be facilitating a Grief and Loss group through televideo with participants present in the state of Oregon, starting on Saturday 7/13/24. This group will be presented in seven sessions, one and a half hours per session. The group will feature structured sessions with live participation. Each group member will receive a workbook that will be mailed and received prior to the start date.

Grief is a deeply personal and individualized expression of sorrow; loss can come from a variety of sources. This group will aim to address both with the understanding that all grief and loss share similar threads at their core, while the circumstance and journey may differ substantially. Therefore, this group will encompass a wide range of grief and loss experiences, rather than being tailored to a specific form of loss. The goal of this group is to learn skills to process and manage the intense emotions that can follow a significant loss. Each session will include a number of skill-building exercises during session, learning to cope with loss and navigate a new normal, as well as move forward into the future with healing and growth.

The group materials are derived from the curriculum produced from Grief Work-Healing from Loss by Fran Zamore, LISW, LMFT and Ester R.A. Leutenberg. This group will be billed at a rate of $480 dollars out-of-pocket, a flat fee which covers all seven sessions and all group materials. A Good Faith Estimate will be provided in compliance with the No Surprises Act (for more information please refer to www.cms.gov/nosurprises) Each participant will be scheduled for a free consultation prior to the start of group to discuss additional information regarding what to expect, paperwork to be completed prior to group, and a chance to ask all questions before the first session.

Groups will be held from 8:00 am – 9:30 am on Saturday mornings. Dates for group include the following: 7/13/24, 7/20/24, 7/27/24, (no group on 8/03/24), 8/10/24, 8/17/24, 8/24/24, and 8/31/24.
